Professional

*I am starting year 17!
​
*Grades taught: 1st grade, 2nd grade, 3rd grade, and virtually 1st and 3rd grades. I have looped twice, and taught part time for 2 years sharing a classroom with my best friend!
​
*I double majored in Elementary and Special Education, received my Master's in Curriculum & Instruction, and continued my education through online classes.
Personal
​
*I am a mom to 4 girls ages 13, 10, 9, and 5. I am lucky enough to have them all attend the school that I teach at.
​
*I am engaged to be married in October. I met my fiancé when I changed school buildings. He was a 5th grade teacher, but he will be teaching 8th grade American History this coming school year.
​
*I love attending our church, reading, traveling, exercising, watching my kids in their activities, spending time with my huge extended family, and lazy weekends with the kids.
About This Site
​
I have taught CKLA for 3 years (2 in 3rd grade), and I know 4 things:
​
1. It can be overwhelming.
2. It needs to spiced up a bit with more engaging, fun activities.
3. It's above the level of many of my students, which leaves me with the need to supplement and provide interventions.
4. Teachers work best together and are wonderful at collaborating.

I am part of the 3rd Grade CKLA Facebook group, and educators are sharing things all the time.....but we don't have much time to search and sift through everything. My idea was to gather and organize it all in one spot, and be a place that teachers can continue to submit their brilliant ideas!
