Getting Students Started With Pear Deck

Pear Deck is essential to my everyday teaching, especially in my CKLA slides. Pear Deck makes the slides interactive, creating a more engaging lesson and providing the kids with many ways and opportunities to respond. My 3rd graders never just "sit and get" because I incorporate Pear Deck responses into every lesson.

In order to be successful at using PD to respond during the curriculum, they have to know how to use it first.

To have them practice each response type, I assign them these slides.

They include simple questions like typing a response to "How old are you?", drawing a picture of something like they to do, dragging their response to true/false questions or interest inventories, and multiple choice questions about the classroom. After just one practice session, the kids were ready! They pick up on new technology skills so quickly!
