Today I am working on inputting my students into all of the websites I use, so I thought I’d share what I use often! I don’t introduce them all at the same time . . . I like to sprinkle them in throughout the year to keep the excitement and engagement up.

Quizzizz.com: Students can answer questions individually like a quiz with some fun memes in between questions, or you can complete it whole class. They can do things like “freeze” others, retry questions, and with Mastery Mode they “climb” to the top of the mountain. There are a ton of quizzes already made, just search for what you need! I assign these as WIN time work, and once a week we play a class mode.
Blooket.com: Choose your question set (or make your own), then choose from 13 different game books (ie: fishing, cooking, racing). Kids can play against each other as a class, or you can assign as homework. I assign these as WIN time work, and every now and then we play whole class.
Wordwall.net: I use this website specifically for practicing spelling words. I have already input all 3rd grade CKLA spelling lists. I link the games in Google Classroom, and they play when they come in from recess as everyone is getting drinks/snacks and settling down. There are many game modes like unscramble, quiz, hangman, word finds, Pac Man, and more.
GimKit.com: This is similar to Blooket, but has more of a cooperative feel to it. My kids love Fishtopia where they answer questions to get bait, then go fishing, collect money, buy bigger fishing rods and boat rides to lands with better fish. They don’t even realize they are learning, and the cooperation and excitement is fun to see!
Boom Cards (www.boomlearning.com): These are my go-to for WIN time. Great for differentiating, and you can find so many cards for free! I pay the annual fee so I can have my whole class included and get detailed reports. Many times I use a set of cards as a formative assessment.
99Math.com: This has to be our favorite website to play as a class! It’s fact fluency (and other fluency like telling time, fractions, and shapes) but competitive. They are competing against themselves to get a better score than last time, but it shows who has the best score and who showed the most improvement. It also shows the class percentage of correct facts, which we always talk about improving with each session.
XtraMath.com: This is individual math fact practice. It takes 5-10 minutes and I have my kids start Math WIN time with this every day. They practice facts, then take a timed quiz called Race the Teacher. They have a visual showing which facts they have mastered and which need more practice.
Zearn.org: My kids do this daily during Math WIN time. What I love about Zearn is that it teaches, it’s not just the kids playing games. If they get it wrong, there will be a video walking them through the problem. My kids are often getting out white boards or notebooks to work out problems. You can set their grade level. The kids can work through the grade-level missions, or you can assign something you are working on.
Peardeck.com: This is embedded into Google Slides to make your slides interactive. The kids can type/draw directly on the slide without changing the slide. (ie: can’t move text boxes or delete text that you have put on the slide) They can answer in a separate text box. There are draggable slides, and polls. PD has totally changed my teaching . . my kids know I am expecting an answer, so accountability and engagement are top notch. All of the CKLA slides I make include the Pear Deck add-on already made!
Classroomscreen.com: Your kids will never ask “What were the directions?” or “What do I do now?” if you’re using Classroom Screen! (Ok, there is always that one that will!) This is a game changer for classroom management. Timers, success criteria, directions, fast finisher activity, sound level, groups, and so much more! I could go on forever about this website!
