Unit 1 Culminating Activity

We are not taking the unit assessments (per our district). Instead, we are taking benchmarks every 3 units. Because I still want some form of assessment, I used this wonderful idea I saw on the CKLA Facebook Group. I have searched for her original post, but I can't find it so if you know who it is let me know! (3rdgradeknowledge@gmail.com) Since I couldn't find the post again, I created my own slides/printables that you can access here.

The kids had 4 tasks to complete alone, with a partner, or in a group. Once the tasks were completed, they brought it to me where I took a grade (one each for personification, theme, events, dialogue) and they received Cheez-Its and a juice box.

Then we watched The Wind in the Willows on Youtube! This was a great way to reflect, assess, and celebrate what we have learned so far!
