Unit 1: Lessons 12 - 15 (2024)

Lesson 12

Listening: We did the personification page from my interactive notebook. They wrote after each picture slide.

Writing: we drafted…. I wrote an example, then they went off and did their own. (I think I mentioned before…this is a much higher performing class than last year. Last year we did it all together.) I give my kids sticky notes with reminders for them as they’re writing.

Skills: used the videos/pear deck drawing slide from my slide deck to review these 4 spellings. Did not do the worksheet.

Reading: Did the BME organizer from my interactive notebook. Did not do a worksheet.

Lesson 13

Listening: Answered questions on pear deck slides after the story. Hooray! We made it to the end of the story!

Writing: All over the place in the writing process today! Kids who were done drafting, revising, and editing started working on an illustration for their publication.

Reading: Same as yesterday with part 3 of Alice.

Language: Same as yesterday but with the digraphs. I’m saving the workbook pages from these last skills lessons for my para to do with groups next week.

Lesson 14

Writing: Finished up our writing projects. We glued them to construction paper and hung them in the hallway.

Other Stuff: I gave them a slide with directed drawings on it for Aladdin. We watched parts of Alice in Wonderland. They listened to different versions of Alice and Aladdin (I gave them a slide with books linked to Epic).

Lesson 15

We did a culminating activity which you can read about here from last year.
