Lesson 5
We completed the theme writing as guided writing. I wrote a sentence frame, one sentence at a time, as they copied and filled in with their own responses.
For skills, we played Boom, Clap, Snatch (which is getting super competitive ) and they had a choice board of Wordwall.net games.
While reading Sir Gus, we did Teacher Read / Students Read and alternated between boys and girls. We used the same type of slides from lessons 1 & 2 showing the question and paragraph numbers.

Lessons 6 - 8
Listening: I hung the 6 pictures around the room, and the kids wrote 2-3 sentences about each part of the story.
Reading: When we read the story, I display the Hub reader on the board. When answering questions, the kids underline the text evidence and I use the highlighting tool. I’ve been having them reread and complete the workbook page in partners. Classroom Screen (pictured) is a lifesaver for directions when they’re working independently or with a partner! I also used 2 pages from Pretty Much Primary for the second day of Aladdin.
Extra time: we did not do any of the ckla assessments. The kids got on Boost for the first time after completing their MAZE. After everyone took their DIBELS test, they graphed their oral reading fluency score. We spent extra time reading their self chosen chapter books and some kids already logged their first completed book. We also did a unit 1 vocabulary Blooket.

Thank you for posting what you do for each lesson - it's been sooooOOO helpful! When you said, "When answering questions, the kids underline the text evidence and I use the highlighting tool." How do you have them underline the text evidence? Do you print out copies of the text? I like this idea, but don't know how to implement it.
