I slacked on taking pictures this week, but here are a few things I changed or did for each lesson.
Lesson 6
For chapter 1 of Aladdin, I let the kids choose if they wanted to read it on their own or listen on the Amplify app. To get there, they need to log in to Amplify, click on the backpack, click on CKLA (the robot icon). From there, click on Library, then Unit 1. I teach them to use the Table of Contents right away so they aren't clicking through every page to find the chapter.
Lesson 7
I haven't shouted out the Kurt Nillson videos yet, so this is a good chance. By this time of the unit, I am using his videos for the Listening & Speaking portion. You can find his channel here!
I had the kids write their predictions on a slide before sharing verbally so they could go back and check if they were correct.
They were also allowed to reread Chapter 1 of Aladdin with a partner and complete the worksheet together. This was more successful since they were able to listen on the Hub yesterday.
Lesson 8
Something I do every single lesson is use Pear Deck for the kids to respond to the Speaking & Listening questions. The first picture is of my slides, the second picture is what I see when they answer. This is how I use formative assessment every day - I don't have to create anything extra, I just have to scroll through their answers. I am able to share out these answers to the projected screen (anonymously) and we discuss! You can find my slides here.

Lesson 9
I didn't change or add much today, other than the Aladdin worksheet. I had them answer 4 questions on their slides instead, then they could listen to different versions of Aladdin on Epic. These are in my Unit 1 Slides, or you could have them log in to Epic and search for Aladdin!

Lesson 10
In groups of 3, they did this themes sort (created by Belinda Taylor Murchison), and I printed these from my slides for them to sort on.

We watched the Opinion Writing videos from Teaching Without Frills.
