We have a short week due to conferences, so I only did 2 lessons this week. Here are things I added, changed, and left out for these 2 days.
Lesson 1
Listening
I included the riddles as Pear Deck text slides so the kids could respond individually. They LOVED this! It was neat to see who remembered the actual names of the systems they learned in previous grades.
Language
For Spelling, our district cut back the words so these are the ones we are doing this week. We used Spelling City to practice spelling them. You can find all of the Grade 3 CKLA lists already loaded on the site! Just add them to your lists, then link the free games in Google Classroom.
I also had them watch the Brainpop Jr about regular/irregular plural nouns.
Lesson 2
I followed this lesson mostly as written. Here is what the reading time looks like in our classroom!
Pear Deck to support student engagement and participation. Instead of partner share and one person share out, everyone is answering. I can see exactly what they have written, who hasn't written anything, and then share out the answers on the big screen anonymously.
I always have the reader pulled up on the Amplify Hub so we can reread together and highlight the text evidence.

For the listening, I could not find any more Kurt Nillson videos for this unit, but I did find this one: Unit 3 Lesson 2 by Sally Klaumann
