Lesson 6

I had a sub this day, so pictured is what I left.

Reading: They did "Find the Answer" in the text and wrote answers in the slide. With Pear Deck, I was able to go back and see which students got their work done.

Writing: Watched a video about translucent, transparent, and opaque, then they did slides and a picture sort of objects.

Spelling: New words using a word sort in their interactive notebook, then spelling word games from Spelling City and Wordwall.net.

Lesson 7

Reading: Tried the experiments but couldn't get them to work well, so we watched videos. They wrote down key details from each page using a recreated Lab Notes page.

Writing: Do not do this page.

Listening: We did a thumbs up/down sort before reading, answered questions on slides during listening, and checked our thumbs up/down after listening.

Language:  After reviewing -ous and -ly, we did this page from my language packet. It was tough for some of them to use the correct definition!

Lesson 8

Reading: Did not do the triangle connections worksheet.

Listening: Before listening, they filled out a KWL about sound. During listening, they took notes on the circle organizer.

Writing: We watched videos about sound and the tuning fork. Together we did worksheet 8.2.

Language: Did draggable slides to choose the correct word. This took the place of the worksheet 8.4 - I used the same sentences from this worksheet.

Spelling: We highlighted the spellings and typed the words today.

Lesson 9

Reading: They read Chapter 6 with a partner and filled out the recreated Lab Notes (wks page 9.1)

Listening: They watched sound experiment videos and took notes about what they learned in their notebooks.

Spelling: They highlighted the spellings, filled in the missing spellings, then got on Spelling City.

Magic School Bus: It's the week before Christmas LOL so we skipped a few things and watched MSB Makes a Rainbow (About white light / prisms)

Lesson 10

Reading: They read chapter 7 and answered questions in their interactive notebook under the flaps.  We have done this together many times, and I felt they were ready to go off with a partner so we used partner cards to match up.

Listening: I always like to have them do something active during listening, so they filled out the circle organizer.

Writing: They worked independently to fill out the recreated lab notes 3-2-1 page (10.3), then we did hand up, pair up to share with others.
