Unit 7 Lesson 1 - 5

Lessons 1 and 2: I had a sub these days. I had her do the lessons for the most part, but I did leave some things from my Substitute Plans packet (on TPT).

Lesson 3

Listening: We used Pear Deck to answer questions during the read aloud, and the draggable slides for the thumbs up/down Check For Understanding.

Reading: They took notes on the Inner planets foldable.

Language: We segmented the spellings words. I used ChatGPT to make sure I was telling them correctly!

Lesson 4

Writing: We did not get to the “Mars” main idea/details yesterday, so we did both Mars and Jupiter today.

Reading: They took notes on the outer planets foldable.

Language: We highlighted the spellings using Pear Deck, then practiced with partners using white boards.

Language: We did do the workbook page 4.3

Lesson 5

Hot Seat: This is a game from Unit 3 that they LOVE so we played it with Unit 7 vocabulary words. One student is the guesser, and the other kids give clues about the word.

Writing: Comparing and contrasting the inner and outer planets (From yesterday, Lesson 4)

Reading: We took notes on the foldable about asteroids, comets, and meteors. We did this whole group. We listen, they reread and take notes, I ask the question from the TG, they answer it on their foldable.

A couple girls wanted to write paragraphs about each planet, and that idea has now spread throughout the room!

Language: Spelling test and did not do Language, workbook page 5.3.
