I often talk about how I keep my students engaged by using Pear Deck during the speaking and listening portion of the lesson, so I thought I'd share what my view and their view looks like.
Here is what a question slide looks like on the slide deck, and how it looks in present mode (on my big screen).

This is what my kids see on their computer screens. You can see on the side they have a place to type their answers. Don't worry if they can't type well - they really pick it up quickly!

On my computer screen, I have the dash open and I can see everything they are typing.

I can select answers to share out by starring them, or you can share out all answers at once. Sometimes I show all answers and we agree/disagree with answers, then discuss. Other times, I only choose a few answers to share out on the big screen.

Using Pear Deck and guiding discussion this way has been a game changer for engagement and participation!
